The ‘Registrar Ready’ program, in partnership with the Academy of Surgeons, will be held in mid May 2024. The purpose of this program is to offer new registrars and residents that may be stepping up into more senior roles the opportunity to learn key clinical skills and upskill in non-technical domains. All sessions are taught by senior SET registrars, fellows, and consultants. The program will include but limited to:

• How to Manage a Team

• Suturing

• Surgical Dressings

• Surgical Draping

• Subspecialty Surgical Skills (ICC insertion, Bowel Anastomosis, EVD insertion, Flexi-cyst & IDC, Tendon Repair, Plastering)

• Perioperative Management of the Surgical Patient

• Informed Consent 

• Keeping your head above water 

• Managing on night shift
